Societies with Secrets & Secret Societies The difference between a society with secrets and a secret society is.... The society with secrets is known, but tightly holds its secrets, which remain unknown. ----------------- The true secret society reveals virtually nothing to outsiders. The Priory of Sion, if it truly exists, is unknown to us in virtually every way except for a few obscure references. Freemasons are known to exist, and almost certainly have a lodge building near you, with a large sign in front. Yet what goes on inside the lodge contains secrets the brothers are pledged not to divulge. It is a society with secrets. Secrets and secrecy are the grist for our mill -- we open musty volumes and esoteric writings to explore their mysteries.
